This blog post is a long time coming! Chris and I went to Showit United in Santa Barbara at the end of February! We had such a great time! Santa Barbara is such a great area! I am really hoping that United is there again next year. Showit United is a amazing photography conference. We left full of new information!!! I also celebrated my birthday while we were there!

This last weekend we had the opportunity to head to Ventura, CA to photograph our friends Joy and Ronald’s big day!!! It was gorgeous! So fun photographing a wedding with palm trees in the background rather than evergreens. Don’t get me wrong I love evergreens but I love Palm Trees too. Here is a quick sneak peek from their wedding. While at United last week we did a engagement shoot on the beach it was so awesome to do a photo shoot on a Sandy beach! We don’t have any sandy beaches in Bellingham! I guess I should be happy we have beaches! Here are the photos from this fun stylized shoot!

When I first started my photography business I had a very small group of friends that were photographers, they had all just started their businesses also. I was looking for friends/mentors that could guide me… there was a lack of photography community (at least that I could find). Everything that I learned in the first couple years of my business I had to search out on my own and find the answers to. For the last 2 1/2 years or so I have been a part of a photography community that is AMAZING (to say the least). They encourage, uplift, and push me to be the best I can in my own business and outside of my business. I can not say enough great things about my Showiteer family.
This past week Chris and I went to Santa Barbara for Showit United 2013. I wish I could write a blog post about everything we learned but the truth is its bigger than me (if that even makes sense). I cannot even put it into words, its all swimming in my head I am still processing it all! I am so excited what the future holds for us!!!
I have to step back a minute and say last year I went to United and it was a great experience but this year was totally different. It was so awesome for Chris to see and experience it. Are you recently engaged? Wondering about how your wedding or engagement photos will be delivered to you?
The past few years we have always used dvd as our primary method of delivering photos after a wedding. Dvd’s work fine except you usually have to use a couple for one wedding which can be a pain. Last year we used USB drives they looked cute but we had issues with not all the photos always being on the drives and some computers (older ones not being able to accept the drives).
This year we are using PASS it is a great solution instead of dvd’s. We get photos to our bride & groom faster too. The bride and groom can share their photos from their computers, phones, tablets, and ipads. Here is a sample gallery! You can share on facebook, twitter, email, or pinterest with ease. Not to mention download all the photos right to one folder on your desktop. All your images are stored in the cloud! So they are safe if your computer crashes, we have all had that happen!
